Healthy People Program Is An Interesting System Essay

Healthy People program is an interesting system of discussing national goals and objectives on the physical health of our society. Although sponsored, by the Federal Government, there is a lot of informative data that this organization uses. The purpose of this essay is to examine the objective of physical activity as described by the Healthy People 2020 agenda. The essay will specifically view this objective through the demographic of those who are economically disadvantage, or poor. According to the Healthy People website, " more than 80% of adults do not meet the guidelines for both aerobic and muscle-strengthening activities. Similarly, more than 80% of adolescents do not do enough aerobic physical activity to meet the guidelines for youth. Working together to meet Healthy People 2020 targets...

There are many contributing factors to this fact but physical health plays an important role in living a healthy life and most be part of one's routine no matter what their economic status may be. Being poor should not be an excuse for being not physically fit. Obesity amongst poor people is very common which seems very backwards. Regardless, physical activity needs to be encouraged for everyone and at every socioeconomic level.
